Sections of a footpath in Paparoa near SH12 has been deteriorating over the years and has become a slip and trip hazard to the pedestrians. Kaipara District Council has decided to replace approximately 70m of deteriorated sections of the footpath.
Kaipara District Council appointed Babbage to assist with the contract and construction management of the footpath replacement including kerb and channel based on the standard roading specifications.
Challenges
The footpath is regularly used by many residents, so pedestrian and traffic management were key areas of consideration to complete the project safe and successfully.
