A section of the road at River Road in Dargaville subsided in 2019. To ensure that the residents were not affected the damaged area was cordoned off and made safe for public to avoid driving over it. The subsidence was closely monitored and investigated by Kaipara District Council.
Early in 2024, the subsidence created more concerns to the local residents and the community. Consequently, Kaipara District Council deemed it necessary to urgently address the issue through emergency provisions, allowing the design and construction of the work to be fast tracked.
The procurement was related to professional services for project management, design, procurement support, contract formation, site supervision and construction for the stabilisation of the stop bank and reinstatement of the subsided section of River Road.
