Babbage, in conjunction with First Principles Constructors, have successfully completed the design and installation of a new tank farm at Air Liquide’s Penrose site.
The project included the construction of a new concrete tank pad, a retaining wall, and stormwater improvements. These upgrades were carefully designed to optimise site logistics and enable safer, more efficient truck movements to support Air Liquide’s production operations.
Delivering the project required a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach from Babbage. This project was successfully led by Babbage's Project Management team, who worked closely with our Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering teams. This integrated delivery model ensured that technical challenges were addressed promptly and construction activities remained on programme.
Project Manager Michael Goulding reflected on the delivery of the works; “It was a challenging job on difficult terrain, but the team did amazing to respond to technical queries from site in a timely manner to keep construction progressing. All the major milestones were achieved on schedule, which is a testament to the collaborative efforts from all involved.”
As a key client, Air Liquide maintains a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. Babbage and First Principles Constructors worked to meet these standards throughout the project and are proud to celebrate the successful completion of the new tank farm facility.
This project highlights Babbage’s ability to deliver integrated engineering and project management solutions, supporting clients with practical, safe, and efficient infrastructure outcomes.
