The Babbage team actively worked through the challenges of revamping a struggling building and give it a new life. An innovative curtain wall system with incorporated juliette balconies, in combination with cladding, roofing and louvers was designed and monitored during construction.
The building exterior exhibited significant deterioration, with numerous junctions and details having failed, permitting water ingress into the interior. The new design allowed to enclose previously problematic balconies, replaces the compromised roof and cladding elements and upgrades the joinery options for the occupants.
The innovative curtain wall system is complemented by newly introduced protruding fin elements that offer a contemporary architectural profile and enhance the building’s visual appeal through varied colour treatments.
The revised design provides modern aesthetics for the existing low-rise structure and delivers a durable, weathertight envelope, leading to reduced maintenance requirements and improved overall property value owing to enhanced living conditions.
